Marc Gagnon joined Hollywood Classic as winemaker in 2019, and we are excited and honored to have him as part of our team. Marc has a profound understanding of hillside winegrowing and marine influences-along with a deep appreciation of historic vineyards and viticultural areas. With experience spanning across continents and world- class wineries, numerous 100-point vintages make up just a fraction of his many accolades. He has worked alongside some of the world’s most highly renowned winemakers and consultants, including Michel Rolland, Thomas Rivers Brown, Andy Erickson and Nick Gislason. Most recently, Marc was the Head Winemaker at Bryant Family, following his role as Assistant Winemaker at Screaming Eagle.

When asked what his winemaking style is, Marc will tell you that his ultimate goal is to capture and retain the fruit’s vitality and verve while embracing and showcasing each vintage’s bold signature of terroir. A combination of artist and scientist, he applies his technical knowledge to an artist’s vision, creating pure and poetic wines, a prized combination. He has been described as “utterly brilliant” by Antonio Galloni, the famed wine critic and founder of Vinous. Simply put, Marc is dedicated to making the very best wine possible.

Marc received a Bachelor of Science in Viticulture from the University of California at Davis, graduating with Honors and receiving the Wine Spectator Heritage Mentorship. Marc also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Santa Clara University.
